I am a documentarian, oral historian, and educator with a decade of practice and three years producing films, archives, and pedagogical media for the Black Ecologies Lab at Rutgers University's Institute for the Study of Global Racial Justice. I work with academic labs, research centers, digital humanities programs, environmental justice organizations, and K–12 educators who need to translate scholarship into something a public audience can see, hear, and learn from — without losing the rigor that makes the work worth doing.

Community organizations, grassroots environmental justice groups, and under-resourced K–12 schools are encouraged to reach out regardless of budget. Rates are adjusted based on organizational capacity and mission alignment.

I embed with your research team, field school, or community project and produce a complete documentary film — from pre-production research immersion through editing and final delivery. Every film is produced to professional broadcast standards and formatted for academic screening, public exhibition, film festival submission, and classroom use. Production includes research integration, field documentation, interviews, and post-production editing. Deliverables include a feature or short documentary, a 2–4 minute trailer, and a curated photo archive.

I design and facilitate oral history workshops calibrated to your specific community, institution, or research context — teaching participants to collect, record, and interpret ecological and place-based memory as primary research data. Workshops run from half-day intensives to multi-day programs with curriculum materials, field recording guides, and documentation frameworks included. All workshops are grounded in the oral history methodology I have developed across six Black Ecologies field schools.

I offer guest lectures on Black geographies, documentary practice as a pedagogical tool, oral history methods, and ecological justice — drawing directly from the films and field research of the Black Ecologies Lab. Lectures are adapted for undergraduate and graduate classrooms, professional development programs, public convenings, and K–12 educational settings. Every lecture includes discussion facilitation and a customizable study guide.

A focused one-day session to help your lab, department, or organization figure out how to turn your research into something a public audience can actually see, hear, and learn from. We work through your project together — what the story is, who the audience is, what format makes sense (film, oral history archive, curriculum, exhibition), and what a realistic budget and timeline would look like. This is a planning session, not a production commitment — you leave with a clear path forward, whether that's working with me on the next step or equipping your team to move on your own.
To prepare for our session, I'll ask you to share relevant project materials in advance — existing research, grant documentation, prior media, or background on your goals — so our time together is spent strategizing rather than getting up to speed.
